Franklin Rodriguez, a.k.a. El Medico, graduated from the Miami Campus of the world- renowned SAE Institute in late 2002. He became a supervisor at the school post- graduation and was promoted to an instructor a year later where he currently works full- time. He is the official ProTools Certified Instructor at SAE Miami and also teaches Surround Sound, Sound-To-Picture, and SSL and Oxford large format consoles. Aside from his full time position, he works freelance in sound designer, live sound, and as a mixing and recording engineer and producer. In 2004 he did sound design for the movie Bloodline, an Urban Drama filmed in Miami. In 2007, he established himself as an engineer in the genre of Reggaeton/Urban Latin Music working alongside his former student, Jose “Hyde” Cotto, with the biggest names in the genre. He earned a Latin Grammy and Grammy nomination as an engineer on the Daddy Yankee album, El Cartel: The Big Boss. This album has been certified triple platinum by the RIAA. He also worked on Calle13’s Grammy winning album, Residente o Visitante. He's done work for artists such as Don Omar, Tego Calderón, Voltio, Notch, Arcangel, Angel y Khriz, Caribbean Connection, Jimmy Flavorr, and Gocho . He was personally selected by producer Toy Hernandez to fly to Mexico and record/mix a musical collaboration between Vicentico and Calle13 for the television show FusionA2 that aired in Mexio, Central/South America and the Caribbean. He provided mixing services for the Locos Por Juana’s song on the album, Tributo Urbano a Héctor Lavoe, and their following release, the Grammy nominated full length album La Verdad. Recently El medico has been involved with Wisin and Yandel’s album; a follow up to the original Los Vaqueros, as well as doing Assistant Engineer work on the Juan Luis Guerra album, A Son de Guerra. This album has recently been awarded multiple Latin Grammy in this 2010 award ceremony. Also, in November of 2010, Franklin’s had his first major album release when the Monterrey band, She’s a Tease, release their album Millonaria under EMI. He‘s done freelance work for the company Elastic People, which includes sound design Daddy Yankee’s concert, music videos, and multi-media work. He has also had the privilege to work with on releases from Locos Por Juana, Raul y Mexia, Gocho, Wisin y Yandel, Residente from Calle 13 and Free Tempo, among other projects abroad. Currently Frank is fulfilling the role of head engineer for Vanquish Studios, in Davie Fl.
